Michael Rogers is an author, journalist, and futurist who has worked for the New York Times, the Washington Post Company, and MSNBC. He has consulted with start-ups as well as Fortune 500 companies, addressing future trends, corporate positioning, and management and communications strategies. His knowledge and forward-thinking perspective provide insights related to technology, economics, demographics, culture, and human nature.

A best-selling novelist and popular speaker, Michael frequently appears on television and radio, including Good Morning America, the Today Show, PBS, CNN, and the History Channel. He recently completed two years as the futurist-in-residence for the New York Times and currently writes the “Practical Futurist” column for MSNBC.

Michael’s work as vice president of the Washington Post Company’s new media division helped guide the newspaper and affiliate Newsweek into the age of multimedia technology. He has also served as a writer for Rolling Stone and as a co-founder of Outside magazine.

Michael studied physics and creative writing and management at Stanford University, with training in finance and management in the Stanford Business School Executive Program. He is a member of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering.
